Is there a God? Of course, there is no provable answer to the God debate. But that doesn’t stop esteemed Christian apologist Dinesh D’Souza and famed atheist Christopher Hitchens from debating the existence of God.

While D’Souza describes atheism as “the opiate of the morally corrupt,” and Hitchens refers to Christianity as “a wicked cult,” this intelligent debate still maintains civility. They explore the cases for and against organized religion, its role in human history and its importance to future generations.

This public debate was held at the University of Notre Dame, and was sponsored in part by The College of Arts and Letters: The Henkels Lecturer Series, The Center for Philosophy of Religion and the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts.
