Communism stems from socialism and found its rise in 1848 when Karl Marx wrote The Communist Manifesto. To give money to the lower class, Marx believed the government should control all means of production. This proved to have many problems.

In this video, Salman Khan of the Khan Academy gives an introduction to the basic ideas, beliefs, and history of communism. It is a quick and easy listen. Whether you are looking to learn about the topic or brush up on your knowledge, Salman Khan delivers an informative 15 minute lecture.
