Christopher Hitchens has earned several posts on Virtual Professors, not only because he has so many debates on religion available from his book tour, but also because anyone that steps into the ring with him has not realized the challenge they have put upon themselves.

Hitchens is a man with what seems an infinite amount of knowledge of religion and is widely recognized as one of the most profound intellectuals of our time.

In this Christopher Hitchens debate at New York’s 92nd Street Y, he is against Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, whose takes a strange approach to the challenging Hitchens — basically saying he is not optimistic. And in all the Hitchens debates we have seen so far, this has never risen.
