California is in dire times. Education is ranked as one of the lowest of all 50 states, deficits are high, budgets cannot be decided, and that is only to name of few of the problems. If we are going to do something to save the Golden State it needs to be soon. UC Berkeley hosted this event on realistic solutions for the above-mentioned problems, as well as a discussion on taxes and pensions.
The event featured the following panel of speakers:
- Henry E. Brady, Dean of the Goldman School of Public Policy and Class of 1941 Monroe Deutsch Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley
- Bruce E. Cain, Heller Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley and Director of the UC Washington Center
- Sunne Wright McPeak (MPH ’71), President and CEO of the California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF)
